Air – Inverness has an airport with good links to England and the South of Scotland. For more details see the HIAL
Rail - Our favourite way of travelling (and environmentally friendly too!) – see The Trainline for details of tickets. If you search and book in advance you can usually get a good deal. The Caledonian Sleeper offers overnight rail travel from London – go to sleep in England and wake up in the Highlands! The Caledonian Sleeper leaves London at 21:15 daily (20.30 on a Sunday) and arrives in Inverness at 08.30. For those that want a ‘flying trip’ to the Highlands you can get the sleeper back to London at 20.15 or alternatively can go to Edinburgh or Glasgow for the evening.
Bus – The most cost effective way of travelling to Inverness . Megabus has some dirt cheap deals from London, Edinburgh and Glasgow but service quality can vary highly. You can also try City Link Gold which is a newly launched service and National Express.
Car - Inverness can be reached from the south of Scotland by the A9, from Fort William on the A82 or from Aberdeen on the A96.
